My favorite look of the 2017 Golden Globes- Janelle Monae wearing custom Armani!
Here’s a funny story. We left the States to travel back to Accra just before the Golden Globes. It’s about 6:30am, we’re at LAX and I’m looking like “Who done it?” because we have 4 kids and we’ve been up since 4am. My husband and our 3 oldest had already gone up the escalator to security and I’m still downstairs, gathering our 4yr old, a huge bag and a car seat. Suddenly my little one takes off up the escalator. She’s trying to go up with someone else. I chase after her and look up… girl, why was it Janelle Monae?? Now I don’t really react in that moment because I’m in full mommy mode and Aja has on crocs- If you have children, or you’re a nurse, you know crocs and elevators are a dangerous combination. But as soon as we were through security and walking to our gate, I told Aja the lady on the escalator was filled with BlackGirlMagic, just like her.
